    Biography

    Dr. Pia Dogbey received her medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School before completing her residency training at the Hospital of St. Raphael, in New Haven, CT. She served as Chief Resident, and remained on the teaching faculty as a Clinician Educator in the Department of Medicine at the Saint Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital until 2013. Dr. Dogbey has a passion for clinical medicine, patient safety, as well as teaching patient communication and clinical reasoning to medical students and residents. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine and the Frank Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and her dedication to teaching has led to her receiving inpatient teaching awards.

    Before her appointment as Firm Chief for the Yale Waterbury Internal Medicine Program, she served as the Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Program at the Griffin Hospital, where she gained more experience in medical education, program administration, and curriculum development.

    Dr. Dogbey remains dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and other aspiring and young professionals. She enjoys time with family and friends, and has had opportunities to share her experiences on balancing family and career with high school students and young medical professionals on local and international platforms.
