Dr. Campbell microbial sing-along at the American Society for Microbiology’s annual meeting

    1 Minute Read

For more than twenty years, Sheldon Campbell, MD, PhD, Professor of Laboratory Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and Interim Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Connecticut Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, has taught medical students, residents, fellows, training medical technologists and many others about Microbiology and Infectious Diseases by composing and singing a variety of songs to implant key principles in the trainees’ memories. He has also branched out to other areas of Laboratory Medicine, including quality systems for point of care testing, test verification and validation, the practice of clinical microbiology, and the place of the lab within health care. In addition, for the past 10 years he has performed an annual microbial sing-along at the American Society for Microbiology’s annual meeting. Since he has just finished that presentation at this year’s ASM meeting in June, we wanted to celebrate him.
