Hyunjae Kim

Dr. Hyunjae Kim is currently a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science at Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to this, he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Korea University in 2023, where he also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher from 2023 to 2024.

Dr. Kim specializes in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Biomedical NLP, and the application of AI in healthcare and scientific discovery. His current research focuses on developing (multimodal) large language models for biomedical data analysis and reliable healthcare solutions.

An active contributor to the AI research community, Dr. Kim serves as an area chair and reviewer for leading international conferences such as AAAI, ACL, EACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and NeurIPS. He also reviews for top-tier journals including Neural Networks, Scientific Reports, Communications Medicine, and Bioinformatics.

Dr. Kim has been recognized for his top-ranked performance in international biomedical AI competitions, including BioCreative VII, BioASQ 11b, and the BioNLP Workshop-RadSum23. His work has been published in prominent venues such as AAAI, ACL, EACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and IJCAI, contributing to advancements in NLP and AI methodologies.
