    AnnMarie Liapakis To Be Honored as a Transplantation "Superhero"

    AnnMarie Liapakis, MD
    , associate professor of medicine (digestive diseases) and of surgery (transplant); and medical director, Living Donor Liver Transplantation, is being honored on November 18 by Donate Life Connecticut at a virtual gala honoring “Superheroes” in transplant. Liapakis has worked in the liver transplant program at Yale since 2012, evaluating and following liver transplant donors and recipients. She is involved in many clinical research projects, including transplanting patients with hepatitis C or receiving hepatitis C positive organs, and addressing frailty to optimize transplant outcomes.

    Llor and Hofstatter Co-edit Book on Cancer with Yale Contributors

    Xavier Llor, MD, PhD, professor of medicine (digestive diseases), and Erin Hofstatter, MD, associate professor adjunct of medical oncology, are co-editors of the newly published book Cancer Genetics: A Clinical Approach, a comprehensive review of clinical cancer genetics with top experts from many institutions, published by McGraw Hill. Contributors from the Yale Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program and the Department of Internal Medicine were: Rosa Xicola, PhD, assistant professor of medicine (digestive diseases); Allen Bale, MD, professor of genetics; James Farrell, MBChB, professor of medicine; Elena Ratner, MD, associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences; Amy Killie, MS, CGC, and Kari Brierly, CGC, genetic counselors; and Amanda Ganzak, CGC, lead genetic counselor.

    Perry To Give Keynote at City of Hope Session

    Rachel Perry, PhD
    , assistant professor of medicine (endocrinology) and of cellular & molecular physiology, will give the keynote address at City of Hope's "Diabetes and Cancer Interface—Connecting the Dots" session on November 1. Her topic will be "An iMOONSHOT Approach to Understand the Links between Obesity, Immunometabolism, and Cancer."

    Yale Internal Medicine Associates Receives National Patient-centered Medical Home Recognition

    Yale Internal Medicine Associates has again received Patient-centered Medical Home Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). At level 3, it is NCQA's highest level of recognition.
