Sleeping Giant is a staple of New Haven hiking located about 10 miles from downtown. The mountain is about 2 miles long with 30 miles of hiking trails crisscrossing the park. The Tower Trail is the park’s most popular 1.5 mile out and back hike. It is a wide, easy trail good for dogs and kids with a beautiful overlook from the Tower at the top.

Additionally, Rebecca Slotkin recommends the white and blue trails: “These are beautiful and surprisingly challenging hikes with a few hidden scrambles. You can combine them for a nice longer loop. Stop in the sunshine on one of the bare rock overlooks and breath in how far away you can feel from it all.”

Faiza Yasin says: "Skip the main tower walking path and do the steeper blue trail to white trail for a little rock scramble and climb, also takes you to the top tower look-out and then you can take the main trail back down to the parking lot."
