    Dermatology Research Presented at Yale Life Sciences Pitchfest

    Four Yale School of Medicine Dermatology faculty were selected to pitch their research projects at the 2023 Yale Life Sciences Pitchfest, held on December 7, 2023 at the Omni Hotel in New Haven.

    Over the course of this one-day event, 32 Yale faculty presented brief pitches to a panel of industry expert judges, covering the topics of therapeutics, medical devices, and digital health. A small group of presenters is then chosen from Pitchfest to advance as finalists for the Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale, which provides essential funding and additional business support for Yale faculty-led life sciences research.

    The following Yale Dermatology faculty presented their outstanding research in dermatologic disease diagnosis and therapies:

    Peggy Myung, MD, PhD, vice chair of research; associate professor of dermatology and of pathology: “NuFoll: Programming skin cells to regrow natural hair”

    Christopher Bunick, MD, PhD, associate professor of dermatology: “Targeted Vimentin Inhibitor to Prevent Lung Cancer Progression and Metastasis”

    Alicia Little, MD, PhD, assistant professor of dermatology; director of Yale Vulvar Dermatology Clinic: “Novel Mechanism for Treating Cutaneous Lupus: Topical Non-Steroid Treatment”

    Bill Damsky, MD, PhD, assistant professor of dermatology and dermatopathology/Jeff Cohen, MD, assistant professor of dermatology; director, Psoriasis Treatment Program; director of safety: “The Dermcyt platform: bringing modern immunology to diagnosis and personalized treatment selection of inflammatory skin diseases”
