Overview

Bruno Cardoso, MD, is a head and neck surgeon who specializes in general otolaryngology, which focuses on conditions that affect the ear, nose, and throat (ENT).

Dr. Cardoso treats children and adults who have obstructive sleep apnea, salivary gland disease, congenital cysts, sino–nasal disorders, head and neck masses, and other ENT conditions.

He worked as a nurse for six years before deciding to pursue medical school, where he says he fell in love with the field of otolaryngology because of the complex anatomy of the head and neck and the diversity of conditions and treatment options.

“The nursing profession is all about patient advocacy and my experience taught me to be patient-focused and patient-centered,” Dr. Cardoso says. “And now, I enjoy working with people of all ages and getting to follow them over the course of their lives.”

With the many advances in head and neck cancer treatment and also in the field of sleep apnea, Dr. Cardoso says many diseases can be treated in a more minimally invasive way, which makes things easier for patients.

“There is always something new to learn and do, which I really enjoy, in addition to building rapport with my patients and making sure I can answer any questions they have,” he says.
