Advanced surgical techniques are contributing to better cancer care for patients with peritoneal cancer, a rare type of cancer that occurs within the pelvic or abdominal cavity. HIPEC uses heat to deliver a targeted concentration of chemotherapy directly to the abdominal cavity.
