Critical Care and Emergency Neuroscience: The Essentials - Yale CME

The 1st Critical Care and Emergency Neuroscience: The Essentials CME Course was held on May 19, 2016 at Yale West Campus. A collaboration between the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, it attracted 140+ attendees from across the state. A central theme of the course was multi-disciplinary, sub-specialty care to effectuate the best outcomes for patients with neurological emergencies and urgencies.

Topics discussed included:

  • Pre-hospital neurological diagnosis and transfer of patients from regional hospitals
  • Surgical and endovascular interventions
  • Neurocritical care
  • Prognostication and patient / family experience
  • Brain death / organ donation

The course was co-directed by:

  • Jessica White PA-C, Lead Physician Assistant, Neuroscience ICU
