Biography
I am a board-certified clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with a focused interest in the catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias. My clinical practice includes a full spectrum of electrophysiological procedures, including cardiac device implantation and advanced catheter ablation techniques.
I routinely perform pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation, as well as ablation of ventricular tachycardia via the endocardial approach. I also have expertise in laser lead extraction for managing lead failure and device-related infections.
Beyond procedural care, I place strong emphasis on addressing modifiable risk factors that contribute to arrhythmogenesis—particularly in atrial fibrillation. This includes targeted management of sleep apnea, weight reduction strategies, and other lifestyle interventions aimed at improving long-term rhythm outcomes.
My approach integrates procedural excellence with comprehensive risk factor modification to provide individualized, evidence-based care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias.

Overview
Nimrod Lavi, MD, is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, or a doctor who treats abnormal heart rhythms. He has a special interest in catheter ablation of complex arrhythmia, which is a procedure done to fix problematic electrical pathways to sections of the heart that can make the heart beat irregularly.
Dr. Lavi performs all types of device implantation and catheter ablative procedures, including pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation (a-fib) and ablation of ventricular tachycardia by endocardial and epicardial approach. He also performs laser lead extraction for lead failure and device infection.
He says the best part of his job is interacting with patients and being able to improve their quality of life. “I enjoy the intellectual challenge, as well as a set of procedures that can fix a specific medical problem,” Dr. Lavi says.
