Biography

Hello to whoever is reading! Here is a little about me. And especially for applicants, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I would be happy to help however I can.

Hometown: Birmingham, AL

College: University of Alabama, Birmingham

Medical School: University of Maryland School of Medicine

------------------------------------

Prior to medicine: I spent time teaching English in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Outside interests: Music, hiking, writing, cooking, basketball.

Career plans: Preventive Cardiology

Why I chose YPC: The culture and mission of YPC stood out to me during my interview cycle. (P.s. After being here 3 months, I can say that the great impression has lasted :) )

My favorite things about New Haven: Nearby beaches, hiking spots, good food options.

Talk to me more about: Anything!

Outside of the hospital you can find me: At the beach; on a hike; or visiting friends in NYC.

Scholarly interests: Prevention; implementation science; non-communicable diseases; cardiovascular health; global health; South Asian health.

Little known fact about me: Lived a year in South Africa during medical school!

If I wasn’t a physician, I would be: Journalist, epidemiologist, or photographer.

My advice for applicants: It is very easy to get too much input and be overstimulated or get decision fatigue. Focus on the big picture and listen to your gut instinct, and take the advice of others with a grain of salt.
