Site Description
Founded in 2002, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries, while strengthening the capabilities of governments and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. CHAI collaborates with partners to prevent and treat HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, hepatitis, and cancer, accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and strengthen health systems. Operating in over 40 countries, CHAI has facilitated access to negotiated health deals globally, enhancing the availability and affordability of medications, diagnostics, vaccines, and other tools. For more information, please visit the Clinton Health Access Initiative website.
CHAI operates at the intersection of business, government, and health to improve health delivery systems, ensuring limited resources reach more people. CHAI negotiates agreements to lower the prices of essential health products in low- and middle-income countries, helping governments and private sectors organize and manage health service delivery to maximize the impact of drugs, diagnostics, vaccines, and health commodities.
Nigeria Site: CHAI began operating in Nigeria in 2007. Today, with over 150 staff, CHAI works with national and state governments in areas like vaccine introduction, family planning, HIV treatment, and diagnostics for hepatitis, malaria, syphilis, and cervical cancer.
