As an undergrad at UConn, Matthew's research focused on skull morphology and population ecology of Mustelids. As a grad student, his focus shifted to ecological disturbances of native plant species in the Puerto Rican rainforests. He even tried his hand at studying the larval development of worms. He then worked as a Program Administrator in viral epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health before making his way to YCGA where he now works as a Research Associate
