Yale School of Medicine, the Department of Genetics, Yale New Haven Health, and the National Organization for Rare Disorders are hosting a Rare Disease Celebration on Friday, Feb. 21 from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Greenberg Conference Center.

Salt Lake City, Utah - July 9-12, 2024 – At the 22nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, the “Artificial Intelligence for Drug Discovery – Development in Pharmaceuticals, Academia, or Jointly in Collaborations” workshop kicked off at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center with a full audience. The event drew experts from leading institutions and industries to discuss the latest advancements in AI applications for drug discovery. It also showcased one of the largest pharma-academia collaborations in the US, attracting many leaders in the field seeking insights on how to initiate, develop, and grow successful partnerships.

Maurizio Chioccioli, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Genetics and Comparative Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Chioccioli started his lab in September 2023 and he is primarily focused on unraveling the intricate mechanisms underlying lung injury repair, particularly in the alveolus, a specialized structure responsible for gas exchange.

Kaelyn Sumigray, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Sumigray’s research program focuses on morphogenesis, how patterns arise during epithelial growth and maturation, and the functional and physiological requirement for those patterns.

Yale President Peter Salovey hosted a celebration of stem cell biologist Haifan Lin as he received the Amory Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
