Our Research
Overview
The Department of Genetics uses cutting-edge approaches in genome technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), genetic diagnostics, bioinformatics and in vivo and super-resolution imaging to make transformative discoveries that advance human health. Our basic research portfolio ranges from the fundamentals of molecular and cellular biology in development, regeneration and disease to evolutionary genetics, human genomics and data science. Our clinical portfolio spans rare and undiagnosed disease, genomic and precision medicine and IND-enabling R&D for gene- and cell-based therapies as well as clinical trials. Our clinical faculty provide next-gen diagnostics and clinical care to patients in the Yale New Haven Health System and from across the world. Read more about our expansive research portfolio below.
