Graduate students are typically admitted to programs in Biomedical Engineering, Interdepartmental Neuroscience, and other related fields through the Yale Graduate School. PhD students follow a course of study that will complement their research activities within the section.

These programs provide students with the opportunity to delve deeply into innovative research and develop a thorough understanding of the technical and theoretical aspects of their fields. The curriculum includes specialized courses such as Physical and Chemical Basis of Biosensing, Physics of Medical Imaging, and Digital Image Processing. These courses are taught by esteemed members of the faculty who are also active researchers, ensuring that students receive an education that is both comprehensive and cutting-edge. Mentored research opportunities are encouraged.

Funding for these graduate programs is robust, primarily sourced from individual faculty research grants and training grants to the section. This financial support provides graduate students with the necessary resources to pursue their studies and research without financial burden.
