The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Yale University School of Medicine is pleased to offer a 1-year fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Imaging.
Candidates should be board-eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology, hold or be eligible for a permanent medical license in Connecticut, and must have evidence of valid work authorization.
The training will include a diverse exposure to radiography and cross-sectional CT and MR imaging in all facets of musculoskeletal radiology, including trauma (level-one trauma center), orthopedic oncology, sports imaging, rheumatologic disease, infection, and pediatrics. Additionally, interventional procedures include arthrography, therapeutic and diagnostic US, CT, and fluoroscopic-guided joint injections/aspirations, as well as US and CT-guided musculoskeletal biopsies.
The fellow will have an opportunity to attend and participate in numerous conferences including sports medicine conference (weekly), orthopedic grand rounds, multidisciplinary orthopedic oncology conference (weekly), multidisciplinary multiple myeloma conference (weekly), journal club, and didactic musculoskeletal imaging conferences. Departmental-wide radiology conferences also include 2 daily resident conferences and radiology grand rounds (biweekly).
The musculoskeletal imaging section has eight dedicated radiologists on staff and performs a high volume of musculoskeletal MRI examinations on 7 1.5 T Siemens clinical magnets and 7 3.0 T clinical magnets. There are several additional magnets dedicated to research in our MR research center. Those fellows interested in research opportunities will have exposure to faculty enthusiastic to mentor in the domain of research.
Applications will be accepted beginning November 1, 2024, through January 8, 2025 for the 2026-2027 academic year, (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027).
In accordance with SCARD recommendations, no formal interviews will be conducted before January 13, 2025 and will be completed by March 31, 2025. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via e-mail and interviews will be virtual.
