Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging; Section Chief, Neuroradiology
The Yale Neuroradiology Section is committed to providing exceptional patient care through a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service for disorders of the head and neck, spine, central and peripheral nervous systems. We utilize advanced CT and MRI technology, image processing and analysis, and offer angiography and neurointerventional procedures such as myelograms, biopsies and therapeutic interventions. Yale neuroradiologists are fellowship trained, highly subspecialized board certified physicians within the ABMS recognized Subspecialty of Neuroradiology. We are a team of 16 diagnostic and 3 interventional neuroradiologists that provide centralized care and exam interpretations for our hospitals and community imaging centers.
Our faculty provide subspecialty expertise in pediatric neuroradiology, head and neck imaging, spine imaging, seizure imaging, emergency imaging, functional imaging, neurodiagnostic and interventional angiography. We work closely with the Departments and Sections of Neurosurgery and Neurology, Pediatrics, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics and Radiation Oncology. Our staff includes the past Presidents of the American Society of Neuroradiology and American Society of Spine Radiology. As one of two pediatric hospitals in the state, we offer MR imaging of pediatric patients in a safe environment in partnership with the Yale Dept. of Anesthesia.
Our Faculty and staff support the education of our ACGME accredited Neuroradiology Fellowship, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Residency Programs. We train our residents and fellows to deliver exceptional patient care, pursue research towards ultimately improving health care outcomes and to become future leaders in our field.
Our research endeavors have led to a number of funded projects, many through collaboration with other Yale School of Medicine faculty. Current or recent funded initiatives include:
