Biography
I am a psychoanalytically oriented psychologist and adult and child psychoanalyst with a specialty in child/adolescent and parenting work. My doctorate is from the University of Texas in Austin in Counseling Psychology. I interned at the Pederson -Krag Clinic in Huntington Station, NY. Its focus was in psychoanalytic training in child and adolescent work. My post doctoral work was in the Brown Schools, a residential treatment center for children and adolescents in San Marcos Texas . After getting licensed, I worked in all types of inpatient and outpatient settings- adolescent inpatient and partial hospital, child guidance clinic and residential treatment for children and adolescents. I have taught various psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. For the last 16 years, I have both supervised psychology interns, post-doctoral students and faculty on their clinical work with children and adolescents at the West Haven Mental Health Center- a CMHC Yale training site and currently am supervising psychiatry residents on their long term psychotherapy cases through the Long Term Care Clinic at Yale University.
I was the Clinical Supervisor, responsible for Program Development, supervision of psychology fellows, education and training of the clinical staff at the Adolescent Day Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Program at Yale New Haven Hospital from July, 2015 until September, 2016. I was trained at and am a member of the Western New England Institute for Psychoanalysis.
