Biography

Daniel Thomas Price, MD, is a highly accomplished cardiologist and associate professor of medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 1990 and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1994.

After completing his medical degree, Dr. Price completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He then went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Boston Medical Center/Boston University.

Dr. Price has held numerous academic and clinical appointments throughout his career. He has been an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital since 2001 and a full-time academic faculty member since 2013. He has also held several administrative positions, currently as the Vice chief for ambulatory services for the section of Cardiovascular medicine and ambulatory medical director for the Heart and Vascular Center of the Yale New Haven Health System.

Dr. Price is board certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds additional certifications from the National Board of Echocardiography. He has received professional honors and recognition, including the ACC-Merck Fellowship Award from the American College of Cardiology in 2000. Dr. Price has also been actively involved in professional service, serving as a council member for the American College of Cardiology CardioSurve and on various committees at Yale University and Yale New Haven Hospital.

Dr. Price has also contributed to the field of cardiology through his research and publications. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed original research articles, book chapters, and reviews on topics such as thromboembolic disease, cardiovascular adaptations to exercise, endothelial dysfunction, and vascular nitric oxide bioavailability.

Overview

Daniel Price, MD, is a specialist in cardiovascular medicine. He serves as the vice chief of ambulatory services for cardiovascular medicine and the ambulatory medical director of the Heart and Vascular Center.

Dr. Price's expertise focuses on echocardiography to diagnosis a variety of heart conditions and manage risk factors which contribute to heart disease.

His research explores dysfunction in the cells that line blood vessels, hypertension, and the effects of genetic mutations on blood clot-related disorders. His work has contributed to an improved understanding of blood vessel function in hypertension and exercise-induced cardiovascular changes. He received the ACC-Merck Fellowship Award in recognition of his research.
