I assumed leadership of the Department of Internal Medicine in 2013, and it has been a fantastic ten-year journey.
I am filled with immense pride as I reflect on our shared progress characterized by our growth in our size and the depth and scope of our influence in clinical care, education, research, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
The report showcases our significant progress in fulfilling our broad mission and within our 11 specialties. It highlights our dedication to reducing human suffering through pioneering research, educating future leaders in medicine, providing outstanding and equitable care, and nurturing our staff.
These efforts have directly impacted the lives of countless individuals in our community and beyond. They have also deepened our understanding of human diseases and uncovered new treatments.
Moreover, this report celebrates the distinguished members of our faculty who have taken on more significant roles in education, clinical work, or research showcasing the exceptional talent within the Department of Internal Medicine.
