A recent paper of our laboratory on a link between commensal microbiotaby community and inflammasome-dependent cytokine activation by Takeshi Ichinohe, Iris K. Pang, Yosuke Kumamoto, David R. Peaper, John H. Ho, Thomas S. Murray and Akiko Iwasaki has attracted strong interests of scientists and general audiences in the world.

The paper is titled "Microbiota regulates immune defense against respiratory tract influenza A virus infection," the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (2011). It is introduced as e. g. "Friendly Bacteria Fight the Flu," "Antibiotics may make fighting flu harder," and "Gut bugs to lungs' rescue."
