Srinivas Muvvala, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, has been selected as a recipient of the 2020-2021 Irma Bland, MD Certificate of Excellence in Teaching Residents.
The award recognizes Muvvala’s outstanding and sustaining contributions made as a member of the faculty to the Yale Psychiatry Residency Program. Sponsored by the American Psychiatric Association, the award was established in honor of Bland, who died in 2003 and was nationally recognized in the field of mental health. The award serves as a tribute to Bland’s unique and creative contributions to psychiatric education.
Muvvala is Medical Director of the Substance Abuse Treatment Unit (SATU) at the Connecticut Mental Health Center. He oversees the clinical and research programs at SATU and is involved in medical student, residency, and fellowship education.
