Traci Cipriano, PhD, JD, assistant clinical professor in the Yale Department of Psychiatry’s Law and Psychiatry Division, was elected to Fellow status in the American Psychological Association (APA) in August.
The election took place at the annual APA Convention by the APA Board of Directors and APA Council of Representatives.
“Fellow status is an honor bestowed upon APA members who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology,” according to the APA.
Cipriano was named a Fellow in APA Division 42, psychologists in independent practice, for her work addressing mental health, wellbeing, and healthy work environments within the legal community, which among other of her work activities highlights the value of psychology and psychologists in non-traditional roles, as well as her advocacy, education, and policy contributions toward supporting, upholding, and promoting the role of psychologists in traditional psychotherapy and assessment roles, and in integrated healthcare.
