    Biography

    Pediatrics (2021-2024)

    Dr. Crittenden received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Connecticut (UConn). She also received her Masters in Public Health in Health Policy from Yale School of Public Health.

    At Yale, Dr. Crittenden was Deputy Editor for Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine March 2021 Preventative Medicine Issue which featured a critically claimed article cited by Health Affairs and TIME magazine from Dr. Aletha Maybank, current Senior Vice President of American Medical Association (AMA) and its first Chief Health Equity Officer.

    Dr. Crittenden has been actively involved in health policy and organized medicine. She is co-authored to several historic policies passed in the American Medical Association such as the following: Racism is a Public Health Threat, Racial Essentialism (Combating Race-based Medicine), and Combating Police Brutality.

    She is a strong advocate for combating natural hair and cultural headwear discrimination in medicine and has written several articles and policies for national medical organizations.

    Outside of Yale, Dr. Crittenden presented a TEDx talk on “Beyond calling Racism is a public health issue” and was also featured in the 2021 award winning documentary “The Disparity”.

    Faith Danielle Crittenden is a Connecticut native and current pediatric resident.
