Overview

Carol Dorfman, MD, is a pediatrician who has been caring for pediatric patients of all ages in the Greater New Haven area for almost 30 years, while being a teacher and mentor for physicians in training. She has special interests in pediatric dermatology, asthma, and the care of healthy newborns and young infants.

“I enjoy seeing the relationships between parents and children, and watching children develop, grow, and flourish,” Dr. Dorfman says. “Children are amazing, and that makes this work joyful and ultimately optimistic.”

Dr. Dorfman supervises residents and medical students at the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic, attends pediatric dermatology clinic, and works several weekends per month in Yale New Haven Hospital's Well Baby Nursery. She focuses on shared decision-making with families and tells them, “We are a team and will work together to keep your children healthy.”

Dr. Dorfman has also been part of a group called “Wingspan” that focuses on well-child care, supervising residents in both Spanish and English-speaking groups. She is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics and, since 2017, an assistant clinical professor at the Quinnipiac University Frank Netter School of Medicine.
