    Biography

    Dr. Malm is a general cardiologist and the Associate Chief of Cardiology at VA CT healthcare. He is also an echocardiography attending at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, adult comprehensive echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He joined the Yale faculty in 2008 and is an ACGME core faculty member for the cardiology fellowship training program. He has served as a site principal investigator on multi-center clinical trials in preventive cardiology, including the ongoing ZEUS, PREVENTABLE, and VA-IMPACT trials. He is the current Governor and President of the CT Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.

    Overview

    Brian Malm, MD, is a specialist in cardiovascular medicine, focusing on abnormalities in the heart’s valves, chambers, and walls. He performs diagnostic and surgical procedures, including cardiac catheterization, transthoracic echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography.

    Dr. Malm’s research interests include cardiovascular disease prevention, stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, and aortic valve and aneurysm abnormalities.

    Dr. Malm has received numerous awards, including the VISN 1 Clinical Service Line Award, the Young Investigator Travel Award from the American Heart Association, the Bacelli Award for Most Outstanding Research, and the David K. Miller Prize in Medicine.
