Nuwayhid is a strong believer in interdisciplinary and community-based research and has successfully bridged his three areas of specialization in medicine, general public health, and environmental and occupational health. His research interests include ecosystem approach to human health (Ecohealth), environmental determinants of health, and occupational health with a focus on working children..
