Alan Lewis, MD, PhD, Lecturer in Psychiatry and Neuroscience Research Training Program Fellow, and Marina Picciotto, PhD, Charles B. G. Murphy Professor of Psychiatry and Professor in the Child Study Center, of Neuroscience and of Pharmacology, are co-authors of two articles that look at alpha7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor regulation of affect and aggressive behavior.
Bidirectional Regulation of Aggression in Mice by Hippocampal Alpha-7 Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors looks at the regulation of aggressive behavior in mice. It was published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology.
The second article, a letter to the editor published in the journal Schizophrenia Research, discusses a clinical study involving patients with schizophrenia. It is titled, Effects of a Nicotinic Agonist on the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale Five-Factor Subscale Model in Schizophrenia.
