Biography
As Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Initiatives, Dr. Mahrokh Irani, DDS, MPH, works closely with faculty and staff leaders to oversee and expand the school’s priorities. Dr. Irani serves as a senior strategic advisor to Yale School of Public Health Dean Dr. Megan L. Ranney, MD, MPH, FACEP, where she develops and directs the execution of the school’s strategic goals as well as the dean’s priorities.
Prior to joining Yale, Dr. Irani was the Associate Director for Dean’s Initiatives and Special Projects at Brown University’s School of Public Health. Before that, she was a research associate at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Irani, an oral surgeon from Mumbai, India, received her MPH from Harvard University. She is currently pursuing her MBA from Northeastern University.
Dr. Irani has a wealth of experience in research and academic leadership with a specific focus on organizational design and change management. At YSPH, she will lead and manage a broad set of strategic initiatives, partnerships, and projects focused on advancing academic excellence and research in public health to advance the school's mission. She will develop and implement the school’s operational planning process and help create dynamic administrative structures and space planning initiatives to meet the school’s growing needs.
