Biography
Imtiaz Ebna Mannan earned his MS in Statistics from the University of South Carolina (USC). In his MS program, he worked on the comparison of inference methods in high-dimensional linear regression for his thesis. Before joining USC, he earned his BS and MS from the University of Dhaka. Throughout his career, Imtiaz was involved in projects on repeated measures experimental design, penalized and robust regression, neural networks, time series, high-dimensional regression, variable selection, and data visualization. Imtiaz is enthusiastic and appreciative of the art of storytelling using data visualization. As a part of the CORE analyst team, he uses his curiosity and tenacity to help unearth significant facts about healthcare. He aspires to make people’s lives better by inflicting policy changes. Currently, he is a part of the analytic core of the Innovative Support For Patients with SARS-CoV-2 Infections (INSPIRE) study, funded by CDC. This study aims to describe the long-term effects of COVID-19 and Imtiaz is a lead analyst for several projects under this study. His co-authored articles include assessing racial and ethnic disparities following SARS-CoV-2 infection. Imtiaz is fond of sci-fi stories and is an admirer of Isaac Asimov’s works.
