Yale Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation Appoints Four New Vice Chairs

    July 01, 2020

The Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation has appointed four faculty to new Vice Chair leadership positions within the department.

Lisa L. Lattanza, MD, Chair of the Department, announced that four faculty members would be joining Jonathan Grauer, MD, Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, in new leadership roles.

“We are streamlining our department to make processes more efficient and to advance our mission and commitment to education, research, and of course, our patients,” Lattanza said. “I am grateful to have team members who are willing to think differently and shape the future of our department.”

The new appointees include the following vice chairs:

Michael Medvecky, MD – Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs

Michael Leslie, DO – Vice Chair of Quality and Safety

Dieter Lindskog, MD – Vice Chair of Education

Francis Lee, MD – Vice Chair of Research

Additionally, Assistant Professor Adrienne Socci, MD was appointed as the department’s Residency Program Director after serving as associate director. She will be aided by Assistant Professors Andrea Halim, MD, and Dominick Tuason, MD, who have taken on roles as associate directors for the program.

Lattanza also announced the appointment of Assistant Professor Daniel Wiznia to a newly created position of Director of Technology and Innovation. In that role, Wiznia is charged with leading and coordinating efforts in the use and development of technology and innovation in education, research and clinical care. Examples would range from vetting new products in virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and patient care platforms to coordinating efforts across the department in the use of surgical advances in innovation.

“Technological advances are moving so quickly across all three missions (education, clinical care, and research) that we need a focused effort to sift through what is good and relevant,” Lattanza said. “Many of our faculty are very involved, especially with technology and innovation in clinical care, and coordinating these efforts will help us stand out in the market as well.”
