Pei Hui, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology and of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, has been chosen as President-Elect of the International Society of Gynecologic Pathologists (ISGyP), the most influential gynecological pathology society in the world.
Dr. Hui will assume his new role as ISGyP President in March 2025. Dr. Hui is Director of Gynecologic Pathology at Yale School of Medicine and Clinical Director, Molecular Diagnostic Laboratories. He is also Director of the Center for Precision Medicine of Trophoblastic Disease (GTD), where he leads a team of expert gynecological pathologists who are pioneers in the clinical validation and application of ancillary studies in the diagnosis and subclassification of GTD.
Chen Lui, MD, PhD, Anthony N. Brady Professor of Pathology and Chair of Yale Pathology, said the election reflects well not only on Dr. Hui’s stature as a world-renowned gynecological pathologist but also on the entire Department of Pathology.
The ISGyP is a world-wide community of 1,000 pathologists and other physicians with a common interest in the pathology of the female reproductive system. The society was founded in 1976 to facilitate exchange of knowledge about gynecological disease and to be a forum for dissemination of new information in this field.
D., Hui has authored over 280 publications including four gynecological pathology textbooks. He serves on the editorial boards of International Journal of Gynecological Pathology, Modern Pathology, Human Pathology and Virchows Archiv. Dr. Hui is also a consensus/expert editorial board member of the 4th (2014) and 5th (2020) editions of WHO Tumor Classifications of Female Reproductive Organs.
