On October 3rd, students and faculty members of the Yale Physician Associate Program participated in the ANDA! for HAVEN Free Clinic 2nd Annual 5k Run/Walk. Co-Medical Director, and PA faculty, Elizabeth Roessler, was in attendance, as well as PA faculty and staff, David Brissette, Rosana Gonzalez-Colaso, Rita Rienzo and Christina Arteaga. Student Leaders of the Board, Trisha Blake and Kara Stencel, helped organize the affair and seven other members of the YPA Class of 2016 ran in the race despite the damp weather.
HAVEN Free Clinic provides quality, comprehensive health care free of charge to uninsured adults living in Fair Haven. As a student-run clinic, HAVEN also educates and inspires the next generation of leaders in community health through direct clinical experience on a healthcare team.
This year, the YPA Program helped HAVEN reach 96% of its $30,000 goal by raising $2,480.
