Congratulations to the MHS-Medical Education Pathway Degree Program Graduates!

On May 31, the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) celebrated the seven graduates of the MHS-Medical Education Pathway Degree Program, during the Medical Education Day Pre-Conference events. The graduates represented five YSM departments. A cohort of six YSM faculty will begin the degree program in July.

This two-year degree program, which launched in 2017, features an education research thesis project and provides a comprehensive curriculum and individual learning plan for those interested in developing a career in the field of medical education. To date, there are 28 graduates representing six YSM departments. Individuals, including non-MD educators, with YSM resident, fellow, and faculty appointments in a department or program approved to award the MHS degree may apply.

Medical Education Fellowship: Congratulations!

On June 1, Medical Education Day at Yale (Med Ed Day), 13 Yale School of Medicine (YSM) faculty members from 10 departments were honored in a ceremony for completing YSM’s Medical Education Fellowship (MEF). The MEF is a nine-month interactive fellowship in which participants study educational literature, discuss principles of learning, and design, implement, and evaluate an educational project for their department. As part of their project, each fellow created a poster which was presented during the Med Ed Day virtual poster session.

Since the Fellowship began in 2012, there have been 182 MEF graduates representing 21 YSM departments. Next academic year, YSM’s Center for Medical Education, which runs the Fellowship, is welcoming 14 fellows from nine departments.
