Physician Biography
As the Director of the Cardiovascular Genetics Program at Yale, I run a weekly outpatient clinic where I am involved in evaluation and management of patient with inherited cardiovascular diseases, supervision of the cardiovascular genetic counselor in providing consult to patients with inherited cardiovascular disease and in genetic testing, data analysis and diagnosis of the genetic disorder in these patients. I have established the first center for center for comprehensive testing of disease genes using the state of the art technology known as whole exome sequencing. We evaluate patients with inherited arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, Long QT syndrome, Brugada, Cardiomyopathy, inherited aortic diseases, coronary artery disease and lipid abnormalities and many other inherited heart disease. We also manage the therapy of patients with lipid disorder, metabolic syndrome and coronary artery disease. We are the only center that has identified the cause of hereditary metabolic syndrome.
