Overview

Sanket Thakore, MD, is a pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine specialist who practices interventional pulmonology, which uses minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat advanced lung conditions.

“Interventional pulmonology is one of the fastest-growing subspecialties of medicine,” Dr. Thakore says. “It allows me to be hands-on with my patients and to apply my knowledge of pulmonology, thoracic oncology, anatomy, applied physiology, physics, and biotechnology to improve their quality of life.”

Dr. Thakore performs minimally invasive airway and pleural procedures, guided bronchoscopy, and lung cancer ablation, as well as provides lung cancer diagnosis and management.

“My favorite part of my job is the privilege to be able to help my patients through the toughest days of their lives,” Dr. Thakore says. “It also makes me excited to work with the smartest group of people at Yale, who are not only at their best to treat patients but also constantly pushing the envelope of medicine and research for a better tomorrow.”
