Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

The Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) Fellowship program consists of a three-year training period during which at least 18 months are dedicated to clinical training to acquire the clinical skills to practice PCCSM medicine, and 18 months of research in PCCSM medicine for a total of 36 months. Fellows also have the opportunity to continue fellowship training beyond three years in order to obtain further research training.

Graduates of the Yale PCCSM program leave having received exceptional training in clinical patient care, teaching and research. Under the sponsorship of the Section's T32 NIH sponsored training grant, our current fellows are receiving advanced training in molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, clinical epidemiology, health services research, community based participatory research and translational research. Fellows may obtain advanced degrees through the Department's PhD Investigative Medicine Program, the Masters of Public Health Program at the Yale School of Epidemiology Public Health or the Masters of Clinical Science through the Yale University Graduate School. The PCCSM Fellowship Program has an outstanding national and international reputation for quality and is one of the top PCCSM training programs in the nation. The majority of our fellows enter careers in academic medicine taking either clinical scientist positions with a focus on basic, clinical or translational research as well as clinical educator or academic clinician positions.
