Department of Dermatology
Welcome to the Department of Dermatology at Yale School of Medicine. We are committed to advancing the field of dermatology through cutting-edge research, field-leading education, clinical innovation, and exceptional patient care.
Among the oldest departments of Dermatology in the country, we have trained generations of leaders who have shaped science, medicine, and our academic community. We have deep commitments to mentorship, sponsorship, and collaboration, all of which have nucleated our success. We hold that Dermatology has the potential to not only launch the careers of its own investigators, but also to provide disease-specific insight that links basic research with patient resources, as well as inspiration to perform impactful research. Our diverse research program spans clinical trials, disease-focused clinical research, and basic and translational research.
The strengths of Yale’s Department of Dermatology lie within its strong faculty, diverse clinical programs and specialty clinics, and extraordinary trainees who have the potential to become future leaders in the field. We cultivate mentorship at all levels and support efforts to facilitate collaboration within clinical and research environments, ensuring that our clinical, education, and research enterprises serve their community. In doing so, we strive to achieve national and international recognition.
We believe in a personalized approach to patient care, and our team of experts is dedicated to partnering with patients to develop treatment plans that meet their individual needs. Our multidisciplinary team includes dermatologists, dermatopathologists, and dermatologic surgeons, each with specialized expertise in their respective areas.
Our residency, fellowship, and physician-scientist training programs seek to train the next generation of leading dermatologists. The strengths of Yale’s research infrastructure, clinical programs, and the diversity of interests among our faculty have provided an exceptional environment for trainees, from medical students and residents to clinical and research fellows and early-career faculty to achieve their fullest potential and to launch their careers.
Whether you are a patient seeking care, a colleague seeking collaboration, or a trainee interested in pursuing a career in dermatology, we invite you to explore our department and discover all that Yale Dermatology has to offer.
