Dermatology Case Viewing and Grand Rounds

Dermatology Grand Rounds is a case conference series. The goals are to improve clinical problem solving, optimize diagnostic and therapeutic practice, and discuss the latest advances in clinical and translational research.

Clinical and Scientific Seminar Series

A regional and national lecture series in the field of cutaneous biology and dermatology. Invited speakers are often from Yale University, including primary and secondary faculty in the Department of Dermatology and research trainees.

Visiting Professor Lecture

Every year, the dermatology faculty identify and select national and international leaders in the field of dermatology who have greatly advanced our specialty.

Aaron Lerner Discovery Lecture

This special lecture is the highest award bestowed by the Yale Dermatology Faculty upon an individual who is an unparalleled leader in the field of medicine and dermatology, and who has made major impacts over their career. The Discovery Lecture honors Aaron B. Lerner, MD, PhD, who guided dermatology at Yale from its inception in 1956 as a small, new section within the Department of Internal Medicine to its later status as a freestanding department in 1971. Dr. Lerner is largely responsible for the Department's broad recognition as one of the world's foremost intellectual centers of cutaneous biology and medicine. The Discovery Lecture was created in 2008 to honor medically relevant creativity of the highest order.

Irwin M. Braverman Lecture in Consultative Medical Dermatology

Dr. Braverman is a pioneer in this field and a beloved mentor to many dermatologists at Yale. Dr. Braverman has a lifelong focus on teaching, and therefore, this lectureship is designed with resident mentorship in mind. Yale faculty and residents collectively decide to honor on individual with an exceptional track record of academic leadership, mentoring and education.

Jeffery Schechner Memorial Lecture

This special lecture is given to a rising star in the field of cutaneous biology and dermatology. It honors the late Jeffery Schencher MD, a physician-scientist at Yale Dermatology who unexpectedly passed away at the age of 39.

Dermatology-Rheumatology Conference

An interdisciplinary conference of dermatologists, rheumatologists, rheumatology fellows and dermatology residents discussing complex case involving the diagnosis, management, and treatment of autoimmune connective tissue diseases.

Jean Bolognia Leaders in Dermatology Lecture Series

Jean Bolognia, MD, is an international leader in dermatology. The Jean Bolognia Leaders in Dermatology Lecture Series supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of dermatology. The goals of this series are to improve care for diverse patient populations from a diverse range of faculty with varying areas of expertise, ages, professional paths, and personal stories. This series also aims to foster relationships with dermatology faculty outside of our department, and especially to increase the visibility and recognition of early career dermatologists.
