Mamatha Punjala, MD, MBBS

Dr. Mamatha Punjala is Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Punjala received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Bombay University in 1982 and her medical degree from the University of Bombay in 1989. Following her Anesthesiology residency at Maimondes Medical Center in New York, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. In 2001, Dr. Punjala officially joined the Yale School of Medicine faculty as Assistant Professor. As a member of the adult perioperative services, she provides care to patients for inpatient and ambulatory surgery with a special interest in Regional Anesthesia. Dr. Punjala’s other area of interest is Pediatric Anesthesia and she has participated in several international medical missions for surgical care for children.
