Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Yale Department of Anesthesiology. I am thrilled to be the newly appointed Chair of the department, leading this exceptional team of physicians, nurses, and staff into the future. We are proud to work collaboratively with our surgical and medical colleagues to provide safe, cutting edge perioperative care to our patients in the operating rooms and procedural areas, specialty units (e.g., Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Pain) and intensive care units. By also providing high-quality preoperative assessment and novel approaches to both acute and chronic pain management, we treat patients across the continuum of their care.

Our people are our greatest asset. Fostering their individual career paths in basic science, clinical excellence, teaching and clinical research and ensuring that our team is diverse and inclusive are top priorities.

My goal is to harness the creative talents of our research faculty, the compassion and expertise of our clinicians and the probing questions of our trainees to transform the delivery of care to ensure safe, optimal outcomes for all of our patients.
