Spinup , developed by Yale ITS, is a self-service computing environment that utilizes the AWS cloud, allowing users to swiftly create customized computational resources (i.e., Virtual Machines) within minutes rather than hours or days. Since its launch in 2016, Spinup has expanded significantly, supporting a wide range of research and administrative applications across the Yale community.
SpinupPlus is a fully-managed, secure computing environment controlled by the YBIC team and Health Sciences IT. It offers a secure, scalable, and managed environment tailored for human subjects research that involves sensitive data, including Protected Health Information (PHI). This service adheres to stringent information security industry standards, such as NIST 800-171 and HIPAA compliance. Researchers are provided managed services for SpinupPlus, ensuring adherence to essential security and privacy policies.
Hopper

Hopper is a shared-use resource available to all Yale University researchers for high-performance computing with sensitive data, including electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI), NIH Controlled-Access Data, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). It provides both standard computing resources and GPU-enabled nodes and features an encrypted shared filesystem, supporting large-scale and intensive computational tasks for research projects.
