WHRY Welcomes Robin Pinsker as Executive Administrator

March 22, 2017

Robin Pinsker thinks big.

“I love to grow things,” Pinsker said. “Create things. Especially things that will improve someone’s life.”

As Women’s Health Research at Yale’s new Executive Administrator, Pinsker aims to apply her skills and interests to growing the center’s ability to advance sex and gender research and improve the health and well-being of everyone.

“I’m so excited to work with this talented and dedicated staff and Advisory Council,” she said. “So much has been accomplished over the last 19 years, and we are really in a great position to build our reach and impact.”

Pinsker joined WHRY in January after serving four years in Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics, first as an Administrative Supervisor and then as a Manager responsible for overseeing the department’s entire administrative staff, including supervisors. She joined the medical school in 2008 as the Director of both the school’s Office of International Medical Student Education and Office of Student Affairs.

“We are so pleased to have Robin on board,” said WHRY Director Carolyn M. Mazure, Ph.D. “Her familiarity with the university and YSM in particular will be a great advantage as she acquaints herself more intimately with our center and its relationships inside and outside the school. We look forward to employing her enthusiasm and talent toward expanding the reach and impact of our work in the months and years ahead.”

Pinsker steered successful efforts to obtain grants and implement pilot programs in her nine years as Director of Guilford Youth and Families Services, an organization she led following four years as Director of Woodbridge Youth Services.

In addition, she has held volunteer leadership posts with various organizations focused on youth services and advocacy. She won several awards for her contributions, including a national award for a program that invited professional and student musicians to play for hospital patients and their families.

Pinsker graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. She lives in Milford, not far from her son and two grandchildren. Pinsker has begun reaching out to council members and supporters, establishing relationships and gathering information for plans to expand the center in new and creative ways that will enhance its ability to serve communities in Connecticut and across the country.

“It’s very important that I get to know people — where everyone fits in terms of the mission, the vision,” she said. “My job is to provide the necessary support so we can grow together.”
