Improving your health doesn’t have to be expensive, complicated, or time consuming — and our new What’s Cooking column aims to show you just how easy it is to implement small changes with a big impact.

In America, more than 60 percent of women are overweight, putting them at higher risk of health problems like heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and arthritis. Women are also responsible for the majority of meal preparation at home during the week. Given the tools to make informed choices, women can take small, important steps toward healthier eating habits such as reducing calorie intake and consuming more nutritious foods. Paired with increased exercise, lifestyle changes like these can help you achieve and maintain a healthier weight while reducing health risks.

What’s Cooking will include recipes to help you cook healthier meals at home, made with affordable, simple ingredients and tools you may already have in your kitchen. We’ll also share tips for increasing fitness, clear up common health misconceptions, and show you ways to get the whole family working toward better health.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get cooking!
