Jason Bini, PhD, Associate Research Scientist in Radiology & Biomedical Imaging, received a first-place prize in the category of General Clinical Specialties during the 2022 Society for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNNMI) annual meeting in Vancouver, CA, June 2022. Dr. Bini’s abstract is entitled “Liver and Brain Levels of 11β-hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Type 1 Enzyme in Obesity: Preliminary Results from PET Imaging Studies.”

Chao Zheng, PhD, Associate Research Scientist, Yale PET Center, was awarded second place from the Center for Molecular Imaging Innovation & Translation at SNMMI 2022 for his abstract entitled, “Preclinical evaluation of [11C]ROCK201 for imaging rho-associated protein kinase 2 in brain.” Dr. Zheng’s presentation also won a Young Investigator Award from the Molecular Imaging Innovation & Translation Council. In addition, Dr. Zheng received a third place award in Radiopharmaceutical Sciences for his abstract entitled, “Assessment of the two enantiomers of a metabolically stable radiotracer for imaging synaptic vesicle protein 2A in rat and monkey brains,” as well as a Young Investigator Award from the Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Council.

Xiongchao Chen, Graduate Student, Biomedical Engineering, won a third place Young Investigator Award from the Physics, Instrumentation & Data Sciences Council for his abstract entitled, “DuDoSS: Deep-Learning-Based Dual-Domain Sinogram Synthesis from Sparsely Sampled Projections of Cardiac SPECT.” The objectives of the award are to identify promising young investigators working in computer and instrumentation nuclear medicine.
