Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Neuroscience Department at Yale realizes that the full potential of neuroscience research lies in the creative power that diverse perspectives bring to the field. The DEI committee of the Department works to foster an environment where individuals of any race, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, and geographical background feel supported and empowered to push the frontiers of neuroscience based on the principles of inclusivity and equity.
We aim to achieve this by:
- Promoting awareness of the need to work collaboratively to overcome the persistent inequities in STEM research and education
- Creating opportunities for all members of our Community to participate in outreach programs aimed at supporting the scientific advancement of underrepresented students
- Maintaining a space for dialogue and relationship building where cultural diversity is celebrated and appreciated
