Collaborative Excellence

The Department of Laboratory Medicine is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community. We have a committee headed by Dr. Paula Kavathas, our departmental advocate, a monthly journal club begun by PhD student Emily Siniscalco, and social events to foster community and belonging. In addition, there are educational events such as a talk that was offered by Dr. Lakia Scott, Assistant Provost for Faculty Development & Diversity, on running inclusive faculty searches.

The Yale School of Medicine has the Office of Collaborative Excellence, headed by Dr. Darin Latimore, Deputy Dean. He and his office organize a monthly meeting for all departmental advocates to coordinate and inform about events/resources/initiatives, and many relevant events for the community.
