Overview
Mei Xue Dong, MD, PhD, received her medical degree from Wuhan University School of Medicine before pursuing PhD study at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her PhD work focused on chemoattractant signaling in leukocyte activation at the sites of infection and inflammation, including arteriosclerosis. For post-doctoral work, she joined Dr. Craft’s laboratory while completing her rheumatology fellowship at Yale. Since then, she started growing the Yale lupus patient registry and biorepository.
Dr. Dong is an active clinical faculty member who enjoys caring for rheumatology patients and the clinical teaching of medical trainees. Her current research focuses on the risk factors and prevention of cardiovascular disease in rheumatic disorders, especially in patients with lupus.
