Biography
Dr. Mengfei Liu specializes in treating patients with liver disease, including cirrhosis, as a result of alcohol-associated liver disease, viral hepatitis, nonalcohol-associated fatty liver disease, cholestatic liver disease, and a variety of other causes. Dr. Liu received her medical degree from Duke University, and residency training in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She also performs basic science research in alcohol-associated liver disease, seeking to understand how to better treat patients with chronic liver conditions as a result of alcohol injury.
